Mississippi "Sweetie" Winn super-centenarian dies at 113 years

March 31, 1897-January 14, 2011

Mississippi "Sweetie" Winn was the oldest African American and Louisiana resident died yesterday in the early morning hours.  She was the verified oldest woman on December 4, 2010, placed on the verified oldest people listing on January 8, 2011 and was the last living child of slaves, according to US census records. Called "Aunt Sweetie" by many she cooked for herself until age 103.  Ms.Winn was vibrant lady who avoided dairy and enjoyed lots of  fruits and vegetables. Her favorite bible verse was Ephesians 4:32, "Be ye kind one to another".
